If you are aged 16-24 and don't have a lot of work experience, before applying for our Apprenticeship vacancies you will complete a traineeship programme, which will help to prepare you for an Apprenticeship and introduce you to what to expect in the workplace.
As part of the programme you will complete a range of short training courses that will make you a more attractive candidate to employers, get help with your English and maths and complete an extended work experience placement. We will also help you to write a CV and prepare for interviews.
Our programme is flexible to suit a wide range of career paths, but we also offer dedicated programmes in Construction and Hairdressing.
Through our close connections with local businesses we will identify Apprenticeship vacancies in a wide range of roles, which we will help you to apply for.
What else do you need to know?
- You will receive a weekly bus pass while you are on the course
- If you are entitled to bursary, you will also receive luncheon vouchers and living expenses
- You will receive £100 in vouchers once you complete the course or leave early to start a job with training

“Taking part in the Traineeship programme improved my confidence and motivated me to get out of the house and build a career. If I hadn’t have done the course I’d still be looking for work. I’m now doing my NVQ and I hope to keep building from there. I was so impressed with the Starting Point service that I encouraged my boyfriend Danny to visit.”
