A Customer Service Apprenticeship is a great way to learn everything you need to know about giving customers of any business the best possible experience. A Customer Service Apprenticeship will often be varied and you could be working in any number of business types, no matter where you're working though the customer will always be at the forefront of your role.

What qualifications will I get from a Customer Service Apprenticeship?

St Helens Chamber offer Customer Service Apprentices a Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service. Which shows employers you're committed and qualified with an all round knowledge of Customer Service; and means that alongside your work experience you'll be an attractive candidate.

Duration: 12-15 months

Start Date: Flexible

Course Content: Learning is grouped around four core themes; impression and image, delivery, handling problems and development and improvement. Students will work towards improving their ability to follow procedure and implement policies in areas such as handling complaints, delivering good customer service, adhering to legal/ethical considerations and communicating appropriately with customers.

Progression Opportunities: Students could progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service or they could pusue further study at a similar level in a related field such as business.

Typical duties in a Customer Service Apprenticeship

Customer Service Apprentices will often be working face to face with customers, being a point of contact for people coming to a business and are required to solve customer queries or pass them onto the relevant people within a business. Customer Service Apprentices also help to promote the business by dealing with customers or clients professionally, helping to give a great impression of the company as a whole. No matter where you are working; in a bar, hotel, call centre or shop Customer Service professionals are essential to the daily running and profits of any business.

Customer Service Apprentices must be able to think on their feet and be resilient, sometimes this career path can involve dealing with difficult situations but Customer Service Apprentices should be able to keep calm and help find a solution to any issues.
