Access to Work

Access To Work is a flexible, supportive programme that helps re-engage 16-29 year olds of the Liverpool City Region who are (NEET) not in education, employment or training. It helps them overcome barriers and allows them to progress into Employment, Education & Training.
At St Helens Chamber we will work with the participants to vacancy match them with one of our potential companies – where they will spend 26 weeks undertaking paid work experience consisting of 35 hours per week whilst having regular support from a member of staff. Participants will receive a Training Allowance which is paid at National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage dependant on age.
At the end of the 26 weeks the participant may be taken on full time by the work placement company but St Helens Chamber will work with the participants to ensure that they have the best possible opportunity of progression.
The Access To Work programme provides supported work placements for City Region residents facing barriers to employment. It is part funded by European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative.
