Duration: 2 days per week for 6 weeks. Mondays are half day (9.30am-12.30pm) and Tuesdays are full days (9.30am-4.00pm)
This qualification provides an introduction to caring for children and helps develop the skills and knowledge you need to care for children. During the course there will be paper based activities, questions / answers, power point presentation and videos along with group work and individual tasks.
You'll cover topics like communicating with children, engaging children through activities, supporting learning and planning for the care of children's physical and emotional needs. Just some of the units covered are:
- Communication between Children Aged 0-3 Years and Adults
- Respecting Children
- Planning for the Physical and Emotional Care Needs of Children
- Communication Skills with Children
On successful completion of the course learners will achieve the City and Guilds Level Award in Caring for Children.
Assessment: You'll be assessed on a portfolio of evidence you build during the qualification. This evidence may be collected during practical assignments or projects or it may include observations and witness testimony from a volunteer placement. (Not provided by the Chamber).
