Jobs/Apprenticeships

St Helens Chamber is holding Apprenticeship open events on 10th January for young people looking to start the New Year with a new career.

There are two events taking place on 10th January, depending on the route the young person would like to take. A general Apprenticeships open day will take place at St Helens Chamber and a construction open day at St Helens Chamber Construction Training Centre in Parr.

Each of these information sessions will give young people the chance to ask questions about Apprenticeships and find out whether this route is right for them.

Carl Birchall-Fairhurst, Young Peoples Development Team Leader at St Helens Chamber, explained: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic route for young people to take, with earning a wage alongside gaining nationally recognised qualifications. Aspiring Apprentices need to be hard workers and must be ready to learn. With an Apprenticeship you’re learning practical skills from day one and will be treated as an employee.

“For the right person they provide a great start to your career, an on average Apprentices earn much more than their peers over their lifetime.”

St Helens Chamber offer Apprenticeship training in a range of different industries and have over 50 exclusive local vacancies available at any one time with top local employers.

Carl continued: “Employers are increasingly interested in hiring Apprentices, so 2022 is a great time to get your foot in the door with a top local employer – and start earning a wage while you learn!”
