Jo Banks is growing her consultancy business thanks to support from St Helens Chamber.

Jo is the Founder and Managing Director of What Next Consultancy – specialising in transformational coaching, leadership development, career management and organisational change.

Having approached the Chamber for business support, Jo was signed up to the Business Growth Programme for 12 hours of fully-funded support for growth.

After a free business diagnostic she received marketing and business planning support from a Marketing Consultant, following the creation of a business growth action plan at the Chamber.

Jo said: “The support I received from the Marketing Consultant has been invaluable. Having someone to bounce ideas off has helped me clarify my goals and aspirations.

“I am now in a much better position to be able to plan effectively to reach those goals and concentrate my efforts in the right areas. This includes sourcing administrative support, which will potentially be filled using a virtual PA, and additional resource to help deliver training.”

Helen Morris, Business Adviser at St Helens Chamber, commented: “Jo is very focussed on driving her business forward and it’s been a pleasure to connect her to support that has helped clarify her next steps. It’s great to see her sourcing additional administrative support as her business continues to grow.”

Jo added: “If any small business requires some kind of support I would say definitely speak to the Chamber – it’s free, it’s helped me and I now have a strategic plan that I didn’t have before. I’m certain this will supercharge my performance this year and I’m well on my way to reaching my 2017 targets.”

Launched in July and funded by the European Regional Development Fund and St.Helens Council, St Helens Chamber’s Business Growth Programme is designed to help businesses operating in the business-to-business sector who want to grow and take on new staff, but are finding obstacles in their way.

Following a free business diagnostic to identify any issues standing in the way of growth ambitions, the Chamber’s Business Advisers will put together a bespoke action plan for the business.

Companies will then receive fully-funded advice and support from Chamber Business Advisers and specialist business consultants, offering practical solutions to achieve their goals and improve their competitiveness.

If your business employs less than 250 people trading on a business to business basis and you are looking to grow your workforce, explore new markets or win new business, contact Helen Morris at St Helens Chamber on 01744 742042 or email growthprogramme@sthelenschamber.com.

The Business Growth Programme is part of the Liverpool City Region Integrated Business Support (LCRIBS) project and is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
