£1 Million is being invested in the future of fitness in St Helens with the Ruskin Fitness Club due to open in October. The facility is being extended to include a new reception and café serving nutritionally balanced meals and internally remodeled creating a 4,300 sq ft gym floor with spaces for functional fitness, strength & conditioning, stretch & tone as well as dedicated exercise and HIIT studios.

The club will showcase the brand new Excite cardio range from world leading wellness company, Technogym™. It brings some of the most advanced and innovative gym experiences to the area with members having the ability to personalise their training using the very latest wellness lifestyle equipment. The Italian designed Technogym™ is complemented throughout the facility with an individual, luxurious interior finish and changing spaces that reflect people’s aspirations and modern lifestyles.

As well as an abundance of equipment to get people going, the remodelling will support people who want to slow down with a fully refurbished pool and new relaxation space.

Ruskin has partnered with local building contractors Matack and St Helens interior specialists TJM Projects to oversee the first phase of a development that will see further investment in a new day spa and wellness facilities on the sports village site.

Operations Director Stephen Palfrey said “It’s a bold move in this climate but the current facilities could only be improved by a remodeling of this scale. Anything less would not have done the club justice and we can’t wait to bring something unique to the area. This investment is part of a bigger vision to bring a whole new holistic health and wellbeing offer to Ruskin.”
