St Helens Chamber welcomed leading global investment banking company Goldman Sachs to the Chamber on the 4th October to launch their 10,000 small business programme in St Helens.

Established in 2010, the programme is designed to address the support gap for growth-orientated small businesses, helping them to unlock their growth potential.

This is achieved through an intensive study programme, which is created and led by top practitioners and academics. Participants will benefit from one-to-one support, which is tailored towards each business.

The morning began with a presentation from Jonathan Lawson and Susanne Marchant from Goldman Sachs, who explained more about the programme and its benefits.

This was followed by a presentation from Charlie Rae, Innovation Specialist from Europe Enterprise Network about innovation and how RTC North Ltd and Innovate UK can help and support businesses through the programme.

Tracy Mawson, Deputy Chief Executive at St Helens Chamber, said: “We were delighted to welcome a global name like Goldman Sachs to St Helens to introduce their 10,000 small business programme to businesses.

“The presentations from both Goldman Sachs and Europe Enterprise Network were very insightful, providing the audience with the knowledge they needed about the programme to get involved and embark on the programme to grow their business.

“20 local businesses from St Helens and surrounding areas attended the event and are now taking their growth ambitions forward, which is great news.”

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business programme operates nationally throughout the United Kingdom, the closing date for the next cohort is December 2017.
