St Helens Chamber is recruiting now for their popular Study Programmes starting in September 2022. Study Programmes are delivered in Digital Marketing and Accountancy, and give students all the skills and experience they need to start an Apprenticeship in just 7 months.
Rebecca Hitchen, Young People’s Development Team Leader, explained: “Both of our Study Programmes are really popular with school leavers, and so we are opening recruitment early so that young people can secure their place for when they have left school.
“The Study Programmes get young people ready for work in a short time, and give them nationally recognised qualifications alongside work experience – so its no wonder the limited places tend to fill very quickly.”
The Study Programme is looked upon favourably by employers too, who recognise the unique skills of Study Programme Students.
Oliver Blackmore, Director at Elver Consultancy who have taken on a Study Programme student, commented: “Having Andrew on board through the study programme has really helped us accelerate our growth and helped us to meet client needs. Andrew has taken on a portfolio of clients who he meets with each month and has really helped ease our workload – so we’re glad to have him here.
“One thing that really differentiated the study programme was that the students have already spent a few months training full time at the Chamber, so they know more about what is expected of them in the workplace. Andrew integrated quickly into the team, thanks to the soft skills he developed while on the study programme – alongside his accountancy training.”
Students on Study Programmes will benefit from a range of perks and will be taught everything they need to know to hit the ground running in the workplace. Open to 16-18 year olds with 5 GCSE’s 9-4, this prestigious course is the ideal next step for school leavers wanting to break into marketing or accountancy.
Rebecca explained: “Study Programme students get to go on an all-expenses paid study trip to Stuttgart, field trips, plan and run fundraising events, meet industry professionals and complete business seminars – so they always have lots to talk about at interviews.
“They will also get 15 free driving lessons, so they get a lot more in comparison with school or college, and the Chamber will support them every step of the way with a guaranteed interview for a Level 3 Apprenticeship. The Chamber really want these students to succeed and will invest a lot of time and resources into making sure they have the best possible chances!”
