The first annual St Helens Expo, running 17th May at Totally Wicked Stadium, is open to anyone wanting to know more about what is going on in the Borough. This exciting new event will combine four zones to support businesses, suppliers/buyers and local people looking for work or training.
Rachel Wellens, Events, Education and Partnerships Manager at St Helens Chamber, explained: “We are happy to be hosting this new event in St Helens. There is so much great work happening in the borough, and so much support available, we wanted to get this all in one place.
“St Helens Expo is going to be a really exciting insight into St Helens and the wider Liverpool City Region, and we’d encourage any businesses who are recruiting, looking to raise their profile, or wanting to procure/sell services to get involved and exhibit.”
The event is aimed at showcasing the best of St Helens and the wider region, and will highlight all the amazing work and fantastic businesses locally through a range of different zones and breakout sessions.
The St Helens Expo will include 4 zones, and attendees will be able to visit each zone throughout the day based on their interests and needs.
Employment Zone
This zone will feature a Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair with plenty of local roles and top local employers to help candidates find their next role. St Helens Chamber’s National Careers Service team will be on hand to provide advice and guidance and help people access a range of free training courses.
Business Zone
This zone includes a business exhibition area for both B2C & B2B companies. There will also be four free workshops with expert guest speakers sharing best practices and helping you upskill.
Supply Chain Zone
This zone includes a business exhibition area for companies that supply products or services, or those that wish to procure; providing plenty of opportunities to make valuable connections between buyers and suppliers.
Local Skills Improvement Zone
This zone will give you a chance to have your say on the skills you need for your business and learn more about the LSIPs project.
Rachel continued: “St Helens Expo will give people a chance to explore everything St Helens has to offer, from business to employment opportunities, opportunities to have your say on local skills needs and more. It also provides a perfect time to speak to some of the biggest suppliers/buyers in our Region. There really is something for everyone.
“Exhibitors can choose which zone they have their stand in, subject to availability, so they can make sure they get the most from the event and get in front of the exact audience they need. The event is open to both B2B and B2C businesses and I’d encourage anyone thinking about raising their profile to get in touch with us to find out more.”
Exhibitors can expect a footfall of around 1000 people through the day, and plenty of opportunities to network and sell their products and services.
Rachel added: “As this event has so much going on in one place, we’re expecting a high footfall and are looking forward to supporting businesses to buy and sell locally.
“Alongside this, the Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair is expected to have up to 50 local employers exhibiting, along with the Supply Chain event having up to 30 exhibitors too. All these events provide even more opportunities for businesses and attendees to make connections and will showcase everything the borough has to offer.”
During the full day event, there will be four exciting breakout sessions available free of charge – where delegates and exhibitors can hear from industry experts who are sharing their advice and best practice.
Rachel explained: “The breakout sessions have top local businesspeople as guest speakers. At the Chamber we strongly believe that working collaboratively is the best way to take the borough forward and create even more opportunities, so we’re confident their insights will be useful to many attendees.
“These workshops are free of charge, but capacity is limited, and we’ve already seen a surge in bookings, so I would urge anyone wanting to attend to register soon to secure their place.”
Workshops are Access to Finance, Digital Marketing, International Trade, Business Start Up & Franchising.
