Last week, the St Helens Chamber Business Fair, sponsored by GPW Recruitment, opened its doors with over 100 local businesses exhibiting.
Organised by St Helens Chamber and held at Haydock Park Racecourse, a range of businesses from across the North West came together to network, make connections and showcase what their businesses have to offer.
Gaynor Whistlecroft from Whiston and St Helens Hospital Charity, said: “It was a really successful event, fantastic networking opportunity, well set up and organised. A brilliant event.”
Alongside the business exhibition, a programme of free talks were delivered by Lawrence Kenwright, owner of Signature Living and the 2016 winner of The Apprentice and owner of Ridiculously Rich, Alana Spencer.
Lawrence Kenwright delivered an inspiring speech, talking about his business journey, growing the Signature Living brand and his plans for recently purchased Loyola Hall. He then opened up the floor for a Questions and Answers session.
Alana spoke about her business journey from firing her best friend from her secondary school business venture, selling cakes from her parent’s kitchen, to becoming Lord Sugar’s business partner.
Since her Apprentice win in 2016 Alana has grown her business Ridiculously Rich by Alana by appointing brand ambassadors across the country to attend local exhibits, farmers markets and food festivals, to build a personal relationship with local sellers.
Exhibitors and attendees have also taken networking to the next level and into the digital sphere. The #sthbizfair18 hashtag is still being used by companies across the region to network and make good on the connections made at the business fair.
Liam Croft, Exhibitor from Accord Legal, said: “The Business Fair was a fantastic event that was very successful in achieving the aims we set for ourselves.”
With over 100 exhibitors, from a wide range of different sectors, the St Helens Business Fair is now established as one of the North West’s best business networking events.
