Jobs/Apprenticeships

St Helens Chamber is working with Ways to Work on upcoming Jobs & Apprenticeships Fairs to help even more local people find and apply for work.

The Jobs & Apprenticeships Fairs attract top local employers who are actively looking to recruit people in the area, and the collaboration will help connect even more jobseekers with employers and help them access all the support they need.

Laura Brogden, Head of Career Development at St Helens Chamber, explained: “We are always looking for ways to further support local people, and the Jobs & Apprenticeships Fairs are just onbe way that we can offer that support.

“We wanted to make our events even bigger and better than the last, so we’re looking forward to working with Ways to Work to showcase all of the support available to local people in one place.”

Ways to Work is an employment and skills programme in St Helens which looks to secure job and training opportunities for some of the hardest to reach groups of adults in the borough.

The next Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair is running 18th October at St Helens Town Hall, with a group of fantastic employers confirmed to attend to promote their local roles.

Employer places are free of charge but fill quickly so employers interested in future events are encouraged to register their interest early.

Laura added: “These events are really popular with employers and jobseekers alike, so we’re encouraging anyone who is recruiting to get in touch as soon as possible to reserve a place on any upcoming events.”

Previous exhibitors include top companies such as McDonalds, Matalan, Lidl, Ikea, McLaren, D Morgans and more; and places are currently available for the next event in January.

Attendees can also find out more about the support available for jobseekers, such as the New Horizons project which offers support to those living in the Liverpool City Region who experience specific and multiple barriers accessing job search, training and education opportunities which would enable them to enter into the employment market.

Laura continued: “We plan to run a Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair in January which is a great time to attract candidates looking for a new start in the New Year, so please get in touch with us to reserve a place or find out more about how we can support with recruitment.”
