There is £25,000 available in total, funded by the Community Renewal Fund, for St Helens groups / organisations that take on local volunteers who are currently unemployed or unable to work because of ill health / disability / caring responsibilities and who volunteer with your group for at least one month between now and the end of June 2022.
Groups can apply initially for £500 to meet the costs of taking on one unemployed person as a volunteer; if more volunteers are taken on that meet the criteria, groups can ask for an additional amount (at £500 per eligible volunteer) and the maximum an organisation can receive is £2,000.
Timescales
The deadline for the first round of applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 25 April 2022.
There may be a second round in early May, depending on the number of successful applicants to round one.
