The Wikipedia definition of self-assessment is “the process of looking at oneself in order to assess aspects that are important to one’s identity. It is one of the motives that drive self-evaluation, along with self-verification and self-enhancement.”  Confused ? Don’t be.

The deadline for submitting your self assessment tax return is the 31st of January 2018.  Our Start Up adviser, Stella Libertini, gives her top tips for small businesses.

Be prepared

Don’t leave your preparation until the 30th January 2018. Something always happens that will delay your submission, a rush order, computer failure, missing receipts etc.

Learn from others peoples’ mistakes

We all know someone who had everything ready to get online and complete their self-assessment but just couldn’t get on to their HMRC account. New security has been put in place so check your account is accessible.
