Running from 4th-8th March, National Apprenticeship Week is a great chance for training providers and businesses all over the country to showcase the amazing work their Apprentices do every day.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’ll have two exciting events on 4th March and 6th March, providing information for young people who are out of work and wanting to make a start on their career and young people who are leaving school in a few months and are considering their options. We want to make sure young people know how many amazing Apprenticeship vacancies are available and that university is not their only option. Here’s some reasons why an Apprenticeship could be your perfect chance to blaze your own trail this year…
Real work experience
Not only will you receive nationally recognised qualifications, you’ll also have valuable work experience to put on your CV. As the job market becomes more competitive experience will really set you apart from other candidates, so an Apprenticeship vacancy can increase your confidence and ability in the meantime.
Earn while you learn
Money isn’t everything, but it certainly helps when you’re training. An Apprenticeship is a real job where you will be paid anywhere from the minimum apprentice wage for your age upwards, often with bonuses or pay reviews as you progress through your training; meaning training doesn’t put you out of pocket.
Nationally recognised qualifications
The experience you gain will be invaluable, but it’s great to have nationally recognised qualifications to back it up. These will help show employers that you are really committed to succeeding in your role and are willing to put in the time to get qualified, plus some industries require specific qualification.
Develop your skills
Having the right skills to succeed is important to get yourself ahead in the workplace; whether its Microsoft Excel skills or more industry specific skills. We make sure you leave your Traineeship with all the skills you need to succeed in your industry.
Choose your industry
Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of industries; from Childcare to Construction and many more! You’ll always be able to find a way into your chosen industry as now more specialised roles such as teaching have Apprenticeship routes. Employers tend to look favourably on candidates who come to them with experience and this is the edge Apprenticeship vacancies can give young people.
Fast Track into your career
With an Apprenticeship, you are fast tracked straight into your desired career. Often after three years of university study, graduates leave with very little practical experience in their field and therefore can struggle to secure employment; but Apprentices are already familiar with the industry, giving them a distinct advantage in the eyes of an employer.
We have access to plenty of exclusive Apprentice vacancies in St Helens, Liverpool and wider Merseyside, so our team can expertly match you to a perfect role in your chosen field. Having already gained work experience, you can be sure that your chosen industry is right for you and will be more confident going into your new role.
If you’re wondering what to do when you finish school and are starting to think about alternatives to University, come and see us at our Apprenticeships Open Evening 6th March and speak to our careers team about our vacancies and training courses. Or, if you’re currently out of work and are looking for help getting your career on track, join us on 4th March and we can help you get started right away!
