Positive Eye launches new Vision Friendly Mark

Positive Eye is a leading provider of educational consultancy and training for professionals working with children and young people with vision impairment. Their courses and products are widely used throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.

The company uses simple, easy to understand, accessible methods to support practitioners in schools, charities and other organisations.

Their practical approach enables providers of every level of expertise, from Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators, class teachers, Qualified Teachers of Vision Impairments (QTVIs) to specialist teaching assistants, to meet the needs of children and young people with vision impairment or special educational needs.

In addition Positive Eye collaborates with a wide range of partners including RNIB, VIEW, charities and the University of Birmingham to run a correspondence braille course. Positive Eye also contribute to the delivery of a postgraduate diploma course for teachers of VI.

This October, Positive Eye will be launching its brand new ‘Vision Friendly Mark’, a set of standards, established to enable schools to show their commitment to vision friendly spaces for children with VI. The six schools currently piloting the Mark will be present at the event to share their experiences.
