Liverpool and Sefton Chambers of Commerce are hosting the Heathrow Business Summit in partnership with Heathrow on the 15th June 2017.
Registration is now open for all small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) who would like to attend and explore opportunities to promote their services to businesses within the airport’s supply chain. Businesses confirmed to be attending, so far, are: Turner and Townsend, Wilson James, BUEMER Group, SHB Hire Ltd, Ferrovial, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure Ltd. There will be a chance to discuss numerous procurement opportunities with each of these buyers, with a view to stimulate growth opportunities locally, nationally and internationally.
SME’s make up 20% of Heathrow’s supply chain and the event is a unique opportunity for SME’s to capitalise on the varied business opportunities available at Heathrow.
As well as the opportunity to discuss procurement opportunities with supply chain firms, SMEs will aso have the chance to meet and network with exhibitors partners including the Local Councils, Chambers of Commerce, Local Enterprise Partnerships, and UK Trade and Investment.
This event is part of a series of six Regional Business Summits being held across the UK, with an additional flagship event in November. The aim is to appeal to more small British firms and promote opportunities with Heathrow’s major suppliers, supporting them to win new contracts.
Heathrow airport spend over £1.5bn a year with more than 1,200 suppliers from across the UK. The upcoming construction of the runway will be the UK’s largest infrastructure project and SMEs will be instrumental in the project.
Heathrow Expansion Programme Director, Phil Wilbraham said: “We’re keen to sustain a diverse supply chain and embrace innovation to help achieve new standards of delivery which includes our commitment to Heathrow 2.0. We will work with the supply chain for innovative and affordable solutions.”
The event will take place at Peel Land and Property Marketing Suite, Princes Parade, Liverpool, L3 1DL from 10:00am to 4:00pm and is free to attend.
