Tomas Maunier, founder and owner of Fazenda Rodizio Bar and Grill, was guest speaker at St Helens Chambers final lunchtime networking event of the year, held at The Mercure Hotel in Haydock last week.
Sponsored by Beaufort Financial, the ‘Networking with Professionals’ events provided the perfect opportunity for local companies to network while enjoying a two course lunch and hearing from an inspirational speaker.
Tomas provided an inspiring insight into his Brazilian and Argentinian background, the story of Fazenda and how relationship marketing has helped the business to grow.
Founded in 2010 by Tomas and Argentinian friend Robert, the first Fazenda restaurant was launched in Leeds with further restaurants being established in Liverpool and Manchester.
But opening up the restaurants did not come without its challenges, with staffing issues and the financial worries of opening a restaurant during the recession. As the brand grew beyond two restaurants Tomas and Robert could no longer station themselves at one restaurant each and spend time communicating with customers and building up a relationship.
This led to Tomas becoming the face of the business, sharing his story at B2B networking events and at talks at Fazenda in order to create customers by word of mouth. They also began to employ relationship managers at each restaurant to ensure regular communication and relationship building with customers.
Tomas also talked about business finances and how they have had to keep a close eye on their expenditure, down to how many pencils or note pads they have used at each restaurant, and micro analysing the expenditure.
Leigh Tarleton, Managing Director at Beaufort Financial, said “Tomas is an inspirational speaker. The success of the Fazenda Group is down to his vision, standards, passion and sheer hard work.
“Any business regardless of its sector, should apply these principles and I will certainly be applying them to mine. Time well spent with like- minded individuals”.
Our next Networking with Professionals events will be taking place in February and May with guest speakers Karl Kirkpatrick, Former Super League official and Simon Cutler, Director of Global Services and Co-Founder of Elitetele.com.
