Merseyside Police Launch NICE CCTV for Business Crime Week of Action

03 Oct 2022

Business Startup

Merseyside Police will be pushing the use of the NICE CCTV system by trying to register as many businesses as possible. They are now using a solution called NICE Investigate which allows them to send a request for evidence remotely and for businesses to send it back to them.

This will save time and costs of physical media (i.e. discs/USB stick) currently being used, allowing the police to get evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service a lot faster for better outcomes. It promotes a more efficient way of working together by improving the effectiveness of evidence collation.

Merseyside Police will also be asking small businesses on our area to consider signing up to North West Cyber Resilience Centre | England (nwcrc.co.uk)

This is free service and offers the following advantages:

  • The latest guidance and tips on keeping businesses safe online
  • Offers them access to webinars for further support hosted by NWCRC – Sign up free on website – Classed as “core membership”
  • A victim of crime service – If they have been a victim of online crime NWRC offer free training for 2 members of staff and a free one to one with our security consultants to enable further protection.

The service is supported and maintained by NW forces having originated in GMP.
