Funding could be available to you to pay 50% of a new employee’s salary when you work with St Helens Chamber on your recruitment.
St Helens Chamber is pleased to announce that we have secured new funding from the European Social Fund, which can allow us to take the hassle and stress out of your recruitment and provide a subsidy to cover 50% of your new recruit’s salary for the first six months they are with you.
The funding is currently available to businesses looking to fill multiple vacancies and those looking to hire a graduate.
If you are planning a large recruitment drive in your business we can help you to find the right people through our career guidance activities.
As well as advertising your vacancies for you, we will shortlist suitable applicants, provide them with relevant training and
qualifications for your industry and even provide you with facilities to meet with large numbers of applicants in a short space of time.
Once you have chosen your preferred candidates, we will employ them on a six month training contract and put them on our payroll (paying national minimum wage) and invoice you monthly for a 50% contribution to their salary. After the initial six months if they are working out then they can transfer to become your permanent employee.
If you just have one vacancy in your business which may be suitable for a graduate position then we can also help. We are working with a number of recent graduates who are looking for work in the local area.
All graduates will complete our Graduate Hub training course which provides general workplace skills such as IT skills, leadership & management, business improvement techniques, communication skills and workplace health and safety. Once they have completed this course and have been deemed ‘Chamber Approved’ as ready to work, we will match candidates
with your vacancy and send you suitable graduates to interview.
Joanne Abraham, Director of Training Services at St Helens Chamber, commented: “We are delighted to be able to bring this fantastic offer to St Helens businesses, and take so much of the risk, hassle and cost away from companies looking to grow.
“Thanks to the training we are able to offer candidates prior to selection, they’ll have the ability to hit the ground running allowing businesses to benefit from their knowledge and fresh perspective from day one.
“In the past we have supported a number of construction, care and manufacturing companies with their recruitment, but we can deliver in a wide range of areas so can support most businesses. Graduate Hub training is not industry-specific, so businesses in any industry can benefit from a graduate hired through this funding.”
