Hayley Bradley recently completed Business Administration Levels 1 and 2 with St Helens Chamber and has discovered a whole range of career opportunities in front of her.
Hayley accessed support through St Helens Chamber’s National Careers Service team, who ensured that the courses were right for her and matched her career goals – and will continue supporting her throughout her job search.
Hayley commented: “Both training courses were really good. I’ve done other courses in the past in college, but because I’m a mum now I really needed to do a course to benefit me and my child; and that’s why I chose these courses with the Chamber.”
Alongside expert careers advice, St Helens Chamber has a range of free short training courses available to help people living in the Liverpool City Region, aged 19+ access free qualifications and develop the skills they need to get into work.
Hayley continued: “Now I’ve got these Business Administration skills, there’s so many different roles and opportunities now open to me which is great. Most businesses need Administration support so I’ve so much more choice now I have the skills I need.
“I also now have Level 1 and 2 qualifications to add to my CV, which will definitely help me stand out!”
Short training courses are an ideal way to quickly equip yourself with the skills you need to stand out to employers, and many of the Chamber’s courses come with accredited qualifications to back up your new knowledge.
Paul Smith, IT Tutor at St Helens Chamber, explained: “It was a pleasure working with Hayley and great to see her confidence grow throughout the courses. While students get the skills they need from our free training, it’s important to us that they work on their confidence, CV, interview skills and more so they are completely prepared for the workplace.
“Business Administration in particular is a really popular course because of the transferrable skills students get, and it runs regularly so we would encourage anyone interested to get in touch.”
With courses running regularly each month, it is a great time to start working on your skills in time for the New Year and Careers Advisers are on hand to help you develop the skills you need.
Hayley added: “The careers advice we were given alongside the course helped me so much. The Careers Adviser who helped me sign up made sure the course was right for me and that it would give me the skills I needed.
“I would definitely recommend a free course, I lack confidence at times but as the class sizes are smaller it allowed me to build my confidence up enough to ask questions and get more personalised support from my tutor which was great.”
