Merseytravel has launched a new grant scheme aimed at helping businesses to increase the number of Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (EV) they have on site. Grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded for the installation and supply of electric charge points for staff, visitors, volunteers and company vehicles.
It would like to thank those organisations who submitted an application in our first wave of funding during the summer and is delighted to announce another opportunity to bid is available between now and 10th November 2017
Merseytravel suggest that there are a number of considerations businesses must take into account before applying. After consulting with their Health and Safety officer, businesses must have a policy in place to ensure the smooth running of the process. For example, they must be informed on the personal and corporate tax conditions of any ‘free fuel’ on staff and fleet vehicles.
To apply, business will need to provide three quotes from the suggested list of Charge point suppliers, or any of the approved installers which can be found on the Office for Low Emissions (OLEV) website.
Applications will be assessed based on a number of factors including:
• How you will measure the increase in Ultra Low Emission Vehicles to your site,
• How you will promote the infrastructure to your staff, visitors, customers and users.
• How cost effective the scheme is and the value for money it provides.
Funding for the grant programme is limited and will be assessed on a first come first served bases, beginning from the end of June 2017.
Applications close for the first round of funding on the 31st July 2017. Businesses who have applied will be expected to complete their project by the 31st December 2017.
