Free parking on council car parks for Black Friday shoppers. With just over a week to go until Black Friday 2016, the countdown is well and truly on – with many town centre retailers offering mouth-watering deals on a ‘when it’s gone it’s gone’ basis.
To help celebrate this year’s bargain bonanza event on Friday 25 November, St Helens Council is offering FREE car parking from 8am to 8pm on all St Helens Council town centre car parks, including Chalon Way, Tontine and St Mary’s car parks.
Speaking ahead of the event, St Helens Council’s acting Leader, Andy Bowden, said: “Black Friday is planned to be one of the biggest, if not, the biggest sales day of the year, so it’s important that we ensure the town centre is accessible as possible.
“That’s why we’re offering free car parking on all St Helens Council town centre car parks, to encourage shoppers looking to bag themselves a bargain to visit into the town centre and support the local economy.”
Simon Magee, store manager of Boots pharmacy in Church Square Shopping Centre, added: “The town centre wide Black Friday event has been in the planning for the last few months, and the support from St Helens Council, along with the management and fellow tenants at Church Square and the Hardshaw Centre, has been amazing.
“The whole town centre is well and truly ready to make this the best ever event for our customers and it’s not too late for any other retailers to join us.”
Steve Brogan, Church Square Centre Manager added: “We really enjoyed Black Friday last year and our retailers are currently well underway with planning and finalising offers for this year’s shopping extravaganza.
“I’m sure the combination of free parking and offers will make for a great Black Friday for St Helens shoppers.”
