After 5 years of working in the Enterprise Greenhouse offices, on the ground floor of St Helens Chamber, Accountancy practices Jennions Macken Ltd & Imajen Ltd are saying goodbye to their St Helens office.
The move comes as they prepare to expand their business by undertaking a merger and subsequent acquisition meaning the need for a bigger office space.
Jennions Macken Ltd was established in 2012, starting as a one man business with Iain Jennions, Managing Director working on his own. As the company grew he began to expand and take on more staff and office space in the Greenhouse before developing a second practice, Imajen Ltd, in 2015.
Iain commented: “I never had the intention of working from home when I first started the business. I wanted somewhere clients could come to visit and wanted to be able to close the door behind me and separate work and home.
“In my previous role I attended networking events at the Chamber and I knew about the units downstairs. I got a brochure and had a look round, with the 2 year rebate for start-ups available, it all seemed to fit into place and provide what I needed.
“The offices are ideal for start-up businesses with IT equipment, furniture, internet and telephone lines all included in the rent. You don’t have to worry about finding the capital to buy equipment and furniture.
“Nearly five years here has proven invaluable, to work from a professional setting with the added infrastructure that comes with the lease.”
In order to expand the business a grant was secured from St Helens Chamber to buy a server and update IT equipment on the back of their growth and increase in staff numbers.
“The only reason we are moving is because we are getting bigger and merging, otherwise we’d be staying put.
“It’s a lovely office in a great location for our clients. One thing that’s been great for us is having the parking when clients come to visit, it’s secure and it has the advantage of polite and friendly chamber reception staff to greet clients on arrival.
“We’re sad to be leaving, we’ve got to know the staff on reception, IT and maintenance. They are all friendly and willing to help when necessary.”
