Design Integrity, a design agency located in the centre of Liverpool’s bustling business district have grown their team with two talented Graduates from St Helens Chamber’s Graduate Hub. Becky and Na both have settled into their new roles with Design Integrity with ease, even through these turbulent times.

Stephen Murray, Creative Director at Design Integrity, explained: “The two graduates, Becky and Na who we’ve taken on from the Graduate Hub have been brilliant.  My business is only a few years old, and Na was my first employee.

“She was so successful that we realised we needed another designer as part of the team, so I spoke to Sean Cassin to employ someone as we were happy to go through the Graduate Hub again after Na’s success”.

The Graduate Hub is a three week training programme for recent Graduates looking to learn more about the world of work, and improve their employability skills. Delivered through the Adult Education Budget (AEB), this course also helps match local Graduates with top local vacancies to help them take the next step in their careers.

During the Graduate Hub, Graduates will cover a range of subjects including;  Leadership Style, Customer Service & Communication, Microsoft Office software, Digital Marketing,  Business Improvement Techniques, Health and Safety Level 1, CV writing, and Interview Skills. On completion, Graduates will have exclusive access to vacancies and will take part in vacancy matching to help them into the most suitable vacancies.

Stephen continued: “Both Graduates started with us on 6 month placements, and undertook lots of training with us to learn on the job, while being supported by the Chamber. They we’re so successful in their first 6 months, that I was able to offer both Becky and Na permanent contracts!”

Both Becky and Na are now working as full time, permanent employees within Design Integrity and are thriving in their roles; supporting the business through one of their busiest times.

Stephen added: “Becky was our latest recruit. She joined us in the office for 2 weeks and then we went into lockdown. It must have been difficult for her as there was a lot of uncertainty, and as a business there was a lot of tension economically.

“Thankfully, clients kept coming back and asking for more and more work which was great, and we we’re really grateful for that. This gave Becky the opportunity to hone her craft too – she was thrown in at the deep end but she was well-prepared for the busy workplace and handled it really well.”

As a Junior Designer, Becky gets involved in all areas of the business and has joined Na in becoming a strong and invaluable member of the team.

Stephen commented: “As a small business Becky’s Graduate role is varied, she’ll be involved in designing logos and websites, putting brand guidelines together, uploading web content and she is now learning to liaise directly with clients which is great.

“I am very grateful to St Helens Chamber for their help in recruiting Becky and Na, and feel like this has been instrumental in my business’ growth.”
