Following the popularity of previous courses, St Helens Chamber is pleased to offer a new start date for its management course, aimed at developing the skills of middle and senior managers.
The Level 5 qualification is equivalent to a degree and is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management. It is aimed at managers who are seeking a thorough grounding in their role and responsibilities including budgeting, staff and business planning, whilst also developing key skills.
Course leader Bobbie Carter explains: “If you would like to reflect on and enhance your leadership and management skills, and develop how you manage change or make strategic decisions, this new qualification will boost your current knowledge and understanding of management techniques and ensure you have the ability to help lead the growth of your business.”
The course lasts from 18th months to two years, with monthly taught sessions at St Helens Chamber to support learners with their studies. The syllabus will cover specific leadership and management topics, such as – managing improvement, managing strategic change, critical thinking and managing stress and conflict within the organisation. Learners will undertake five mandatory units, and some optional units up to the maximum number of credits allowed.
The course is available to all businesses and there is funding available. Under the new apprenticeship reforms, some businesses are required to use funds from their levy account to pay for training – this course is also available to levy paying businesses.The course is free to anyone who isn’t a graduate, and for graduates the cost is £3500.
The Chamber is holding drop-in information sessions between 3pm and 6pm on the 19th and 22nd May 2017.
