St Helens Borough Council has a range of opportunities available for local businesses to bid for upcoming work via their CHEST system for CRSTS Highways (City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements).
CRSTS Highways capital maintenance programme 2022/23 Bulk Tender 1 was procured via an open tender on the chest. First published in July and awarded in August. The tender was awarded based on 60/40 Price/quality and works are 90% complete.
CRSTS Highways capital maintenance programme 2022/23 Bulk Tender 2 was again procured as an open tender on the chest. Again, on a 60/40 split. Works are programmed to commence week commencing 28th November and completed before Christmas.
Carriageway Resurfacing
The Council have upcoming bids for works with bulk tender 3 carriageway resurfacing, this will be one tender split into two lots for two contractors to be awarded. There will be 9 carriageway resurfacing schemes in lot 1 and 10 carriageway resurfacing schemes in lot 2. This is expected to be on the chest late November.
Resurfacing Works
Another tender will be out for resurfacing works on the key route network, the schemes will focus on the high-speed roads. Coming in November, the works will be taking place in quarter 4 and is expected to be roughly 3 weeks’ worth of night works.
Footway and Drainage Schemes
The final tender will be for footway and drainage schemes. This is expected to be on the CHEST system in December for works taking place in quarter 4.
