St Helens Chamber is holding a festive themed Upcycling course which gives trainees the chance to upcycle old Christmas decorations and give them a new lease of life.
The Christmas course lasts for two days at St Helens Chamber’s Construction Training Centre, during which time trainees will develop their skills in decorating, painting and all aspects of upcycling.
Neil Rigby, Team Leader at St Helens Construction Training Centre, explained: “The upcycling course is always a really popular course and trainees have a great time learning skills they can use in their careers or just around the home.
“We’re really excited to be putting on a Christmas version of this course and think it’s a great opportunity for people to develop their skills and upcycle items they can use and show off around the home over Christmas!”
The festive Upcycling course is free of charge for residents of the Liverpool City Region who are aged 19+ and gives trainees the chance to develop skills to ensure their CV stands out to potential employers.
Neil continued: “The course will cover a practical approach to painting and give trainees the confidence to achieve a range of professional quality finishes. Trainees will be encouraged to develop their own personal style and express their own individual tastes too.
“Our expert team will show them all the tools, tips and advice to beautifully upcycle a piece of furniture; including how to prep, sand, paint and finish their item using paint techniques that will breathe a new lease of life into old Christmas decorations and other furniture.”
St Helens Chamber offer a range of free short courses at their purpose-built construction training centre, and each course develops different skill sets. All courses are free to eligible trainees and are run regularly by qualified construction training advisers.
Neil added: “We’ve got plenty of short courses running in the Construction Centre and are working on some new courses for 2022.
“If anyone would like to start building their skills, whatever level you are at, please do get in touch.”
