As the dust settles on the recent COP26 conference, the resounding messages are clear. Climate change is real. It’s happening faster than we feared, and it is the responsibility of everyone, to accelerate action to tackle the crisis by reducing Greenhouse Gasses.
From a business perspective, it’s even more disruption to deal with on top of Brexit and the pandemic. Small businesses, already at full stretch and possibly low on resources may not be able to fully commit to the cause. Furthermore, many business owners, overwhelmed by the volumes of information on how to reduce emissions could find themselves wondering where to actually start.
St Helens Chamber Business Growth Programme can help eligible St Helens based businesses to get an emission reduction plan in place, and get them on the road to Net Zero.
Our Environmental Consultant will work with businesses to firstly measure their current carbon footprint. He will then identify ways in which the emissions can be reduced, and provide the resources so that the business can measure its future emissions.
With this knowledge and information, businesses can build their own strategies to ensure they remain on track to achieve the planet saving Net Zero emissions goal.
Several businesses have already signed up for the support, and are progressing with their individual projects.
We look forward to seeing the results achieved by St Helens Businesses and will be actively promoting both their individual efforts, and the total greenhouse gas reductions of all involved.
