Become a Green Homes Grant installer

The Government has recently launched the Green Homes Grant Scheme, allowing homeowners and residential landlords to apply for a voucher towards the cost of installing energy efficient improvements to their home.

Vouchers will cover two-thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum government contribution of £5,000 or £10,000. Households on low income may be eligible for a voucher covering 100% of the cost of the improvements. The maximum value of the voucher is £10,000.

To access the grants, which cover two-thirds of the cost of insulation or installing low-carbon heating, householders must obtain quotes from contractors who are TrustMark registered and listed on the official Simple Energy Advice (SEA) website.

St Helens Council is encouraging local, relevant tradespeople and businesses to register with TrustMark and register as a Green Homes Grant installer as soon as possible, in order to benefit from the work which will be generated by the scheme.

Tradespeople and businesses will be paid for the costs covered by the voucher once the work has been completed and you have confirmed you have received any customer contribution. The payment will come from the grant administrator. Most installers will get the grant payment within 5 working days.

There has already been keen interest from St Helens homeowners to take advantage of the Government scheme – however, very few St Helens businesses have signed up to provide the services. All work must be carried out by March 2021, so businesses are urged to register as soon as possible so as not to miss out.

If you are a tradesperson or business and would like to become a Green Homes Grant installer, register with TrustMark and stand out as a Government Endorsed Quality Business.
