Following the successful launch of our Manufacturing Focus  events last year, our 2018 programme kicked off in March with a visit to ATG Access in Haydock.

Once again, the event proved to be very popular with 18 senior managers and owners of local manufacturing and engineering businesses in attendance.

ATG Access is a world-leading manufacturer of security bollards and vehicle barrier systems, currently exporting to over 42 countries worldwide.

Hosted by Glenn Cooper, CEO at ATG Access, delegates were treated to a presentation which explored ATG’s story and how it has strategically set up a network of distributors around the world and manufacturing facilities within regional hubs.

Hilary Comaish from St Helens Chamber also gave an enlightening presentation on the basics and benefits of various Business Improvement Techniques including: Lean Principles, Kaizen and 5s Methodology which was well received by all delegates.

Designed for local manufacturing and engineering companies, our Manufacturing Focus events provide an informal platform for senior managers and owners to network and gain an insight into how other local companies operate.

Our next Manufacturing Focus event will take place on the 24th May at family owned multi-national manufacturer Knauf Insulation Ltd. For more information click here or call 01744 742028.

The Chamber also delivers a range of Manufacturing and Logistics courses up to NVQ Level 3. For more information contact workforce@sthelenschamber.com or call 01744 742333.
