Paul Dixon

Many congratulations to Paul Dixon on being named “Tourism Young Person of the Year” at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.

After completing his Apprenticeship training at St Helens Chamber, Paul has gone on to be the first apprentice to join Liverpool Film Office . Within 12 months of being part of the team he has grown from strength to strength in terms of his skills, experience and confidence.

As Locations Apprentice, Paul has worked on over 300 productions to date and has supported Culture Liverpool on some key major events – that’s awe-inspiring to say the least. He has obtained great knowledge of the magnificent buildings the city and city region has to offer along with the lesser well-known buildings and streets and he uses this information when dealing with film companies.

The nature of the industry often entails working late nights and weekends but this hasn’t stopped Paul. His can-do attitude has enabled him to carry out his duties during unsociable hours to a very high standard.

Lynn Saunders, Film Office Manager, said “Paul is a bit of an unsung hero yet the work he does is vital to ensuring the Film Office continues to run smoothly, efficiently and continues to generate income to the economy. Paul has worked during the busiest period ever for the Film Office and his knowledge and skills are an integral part to the team.”

Well done Paul on picking up your well-deserved award.
