Akos Furjes of Sleepwell Security Solutions has over 22 years’ experience in the security industry; his passion for security started in his native Hungary, where he first realised his dream of working in the industry through university studies and his work in a nuclear power plant. Throughout his experience Akos worked with many different elements of electrical security including CCTV, biometric finger readers and many more forms of protection; working for five years with the Ministry of Defence.
Akos decided he wanted to pursue his dream of running his own security company and was referred to St Helens Chamber’s Business Start Up team through the DWP JobCentre Plus New Enterprise Allowance programme for help and advice on how to get his business started. Since then he has embraced all the support made available to him:
Akos explains: “Everybody in the Chamber was really helpful, especially Cath and Steve from the start up team who helped me when I was just starting out. Everybody really tries their best to help small businesses thrive and they guided me in the right direction at this crucial time”.
Since starting his business, Akos makes good use of Chamber services as a Member, including exhibiting at the Business Fair and attending networking events.

Akos’ business model is to provide an unrivalled, top quality service; he prides himself on taking the time to deliver completely bespoke security systems suited to a customer’s needs.
Akos says: “It’s important for me to understand the customer and why they want the security system, so I take a little time to get to know them and their needs; we offer specialised, bespoke security solutions for our customers so they get exactly what they need from the system”
In getting to know the customer, Sleepwell Security Solutions can ensure they provide the best possible service and know that customers have peace of mind.
Akos added: “Some customers come to me with a list of what they want for their security system. Once we’ve discussed this, quite often what they want and what they need are completely different; so getting to know customers is really beneficial for both myself and the client.
“Until you are burgled you will never really understand the devastation it causes, but I want people to know that there is a solution for everything and they are not alone; there are professionals like myself who can give you a solution to your worries and help restore your peace of mind”
Akos is proud that his security systems have helped Police secure convictions, but despite being glad that his cameras have helped catch criminals, Akos hopes that for future clients they can act more as a deterrent rather than as evidence.
“I always hope my security systems are not used, this means they have worked as a deterrent and put off any potential criminal from targeting my client’s properties; meaning they’ve been spared the upset of any criminal activity”
