However, we want to make sure people know there are jobs out there locally; and that there is support available to give you the best chances of success.

“All of our support is completely free, as are our short courses, so I would encourage anyone who would like to improve their employability to get in touch.”

The Chamber’s Education team works with schools in St Helens and across the city region to help raise aspirations and awareness of the types of careers available to young people in our local area once they leave education.

Throughout National Careers Week, the team is working with local businesses to deliver presentations to schoolchildren across the city region, providing insights into the types of career they can move into and let them hear directly from local people and put their questions to them about how to achieve their career goals.

Rachel Wellens, Events and Partnerships Manager at St Helens Chamber, commented: “National Careers Week is a great opportunity for young people to explore the different types of careers they could have locally.

“The Education Programme at St Helens Chamber is designed to connect local businesses with young people to help inspire them about the opportunities that exist and to help ensure that every young person has access to information and guidance on the world of work.”
