Introduction to Trainer Skills

This course is designed to provide learners with a sound introduction to training. It is designed to build the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be an effective trainer.

On completion of the course, learners will be able to plan, deliver and evaluate effective training, no matter what subject they are delivering.

The course covers five main areas:

  • Identifying learner needs
  • Planning (Including session planning)
  • Delivery (Participants will deliver a 10 minute ‘session’ that they have planned)
  • Assessment Evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)

If you are new to PowerPoint Presentations, it may be beneficial to attend the Chamber’s IT course prior to this course to ensure you have the appropriate PowerPoint skills.

This four day course is aimed at adults who need to develop or improve their digital skills to support with job searching and help completing Universal Credit applications.

Course includes:

  • Understand how to use a computer/tablet/mobile device to aid job searching and universal credit applications
  • Learn how to make Universal Credit applications online
  • Use a word processing application to create, edit and produce a CV
  • Learn how to connect to the internet and use browser software to navigate to web pages
  • Use browser tools to search for job vacancies online
  • Learn how to set up an email address and use email software to send and receive emails
  • Learn how to download apps onto mobile devices, particularly job searching tools

On successful completion of the course learners will achieve the City & Guilds Entry Level 3 Award for IT Users.

By completing the course attendees will increase their confidence and knowledge of digital platforms to help find a job, use tools to apply for jobs and have gained the skills to complete online applications for universal credits.
