    Advanced Microsoft Office Skills

    To complete this course you will need to have some working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

    This course is delivered over 8 full days at our Clickworks building. Times are 9.30am-4.00pm.

    UNITS DELIVERED ARE:

    Spreadsheet Software

    Unit aim 
    This is the ability to use Excel to record data in rows and columns, perform calculations with numerical data and present information using charts and graphs.

    On completion of this unit a candidate should be able to select and use a wide range of intermediate spreadsheet software tools and techniques to produce, present and check spreadsheets.

    Unit outcomes:
    1. Use a spreadsheet to enter, edit and organise numerical and other data
    2. Select and use appropriate formulas and data analysis tools to meet requirements
    3. Select and use tools and techniques to present and format spreadsheet information

    Word processing software

    Unit aim
    This is the ability to use a Word for the creation, editing and production of documents. On completion of this unit a candidate should be able to select and use a range of intermediate word processing software tools and techniques to produce documents.

    Unit outcomes:
    1. Enter and combine text and other information accurately within word processing documents
    2. Create and modify layout and structures for word processing documents
    3. Use word processing software tools to format and present documents effectively to meet requirements


    Using e mail

    Unit aims
    This is the ability to make the best use of e-mail software to safely and securely send, receive and store messages. On completion of this unit ,the learner should be able to understand and make effective use of a range of intermediate e-mail software tools to send, receive and store messages.

    Unit outcomes:
    The learner will be able to:
    1. Use e-mail software tools and techniques to compose and send messages
    2. Manage incoming e-mail effectively

    On successful completion of the course learners will achieve the City & Guilds Level 2 Award for IT User.

Digital Skills for Jobseekers will help you find your way safely around the internet, set up a personal email address if you don't already have one and make use of the internet for searching for work.

    This course is suitable for anyone who has little or no experience with IT.

    By completing this course you will increase your confidence and knowledge of digital platforms to help find an apply for a job online.

    This course is delivered over 4 full days at our Clickworks building. Times are 9.30am-4.00pm.

    During this course, you will:

    • Understand how to use a computer/tablet/mobile device to aid job searching and universal credit applications
    • Learn how to make Universal Credit applications online
    • Use a word processing application to create, edit and produce a CV
    • Learn how to connect to the internet and use browser software to navigate to web pages
    • Use browser tools to search for job vacancies online
    • Learn how to set up an email address and use email software to send and receive emails
    • Learn how to download apps onto mobile devices, particularly job searching tools

    On successful completion of the course you will gain the City & Guilds Entry Level 3 Award for IT Users.

    Door Supervision

    This course is aimed at individuals wishing to work as a door supervisor. 

    Topics covered:

    • The main characteristics of the Private Security Industry
    • The importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements
    • The role and objectives of a door supervisor, powers of arrest relevant to a door supervisor
    • How to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations
    • Good practice to follow after conflict situations, physical interventions and the implications of their use and the use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.

    Description of the course: - This training course will teach you a range of creative make-up processes over a duration of two days, The course will include the application of basic prosthetics, casualty and wound effects and a Halloween make-up look. This exciting, practical-based course will prepare those looking to further their journey into the make-up industry.

    The aim of this course is: To teach you everything there is to know about Media and Special FX makeup including:

    • Health, safety & hygiene
    • Consultation techniques
    • Contraindications
    • Application of basic prosthetics
    • Creating casualty effects incorporating objects
    • Creating a Halloween make-up look
    • Aftercare advice

    This course is suitable for:  The course is suitable for those who already have an interest in make-up and may have experience of providing make up treatments to friends or family. For anybody looking to go into working as a freelance makeup artist, it is recommended to have completed some practical training within make-up prior to booking this course.

    Requirements: Students are expected to work on each other or provide a model. It is recommended that students wear dark clothing to avoid staining or damage. 

    What is supplied: Everything you need is provided for you and an in house training certificate will be provided on completion of the course.

    Tools you will need to bring: You are not required to bring any tools along with you.

    Qualifications Gained: Successful students will be awarded a certificate. Any students unable to achieve the required standards will be invited to return and attend another course.

    Theory or Practical: Both. Students will be required to perform practical work along with a multiple choice test at the end of the sessions.
