Introduction to Digital Marketing

This course has been designed to give you an overview of current digital marketing techniques. Digital marketing is used in a wide variety of sectors, and many job roles now have responsibility for promoting a business not just the advertising and marketing department. You will gain an insight into marketing trends and develop your skills that are highly sought after by many employers.

To complete this course you should have previous experience of using computers and a good understanding of areas such as file management and internet browsing.

This course is delivered over 3 full days at the Chamber's main building. Times are 9.30am-4.00pm.

This course will cover the following areas:

  • Digital Marketing Principles – the role of digital marketing
  • Digital Marketing Platforms – How different digital marketing platforms can be used to promote products and services
  • Social Media Marketing – How social media used to promote products and services
  • Search Engine Marketing – SEO and Paid Search marketing
  • The Effects of Digital Marketing – How to evaluate the effects of digital marketing
  • Website Best-Practice – How to create your own website and improve its performance

Do you constantly find your CV is being ignored?

Do you want to make your CV stand out form the crowd?

Learn how to produce an effective CV and upload it to your Universal Job Match account on our short CV session.

This course lasts two days from 9:30am - 4:00pm and is based at our Clickworks building. 

By the end of the session all learners will have:

  • An understanding of useful information to have prepared before the interview
  • An understanding of what interviewers will be expecting in regards to; Punctuality, Dress Sense, Behaviour and Language Use
  • An understanding of the importance of researching the interviewing organisation
  • An understanding of questions to ask the interviewer

Having a good CV is vital while you are seeking work, our advisors will give you guidance and advice in what you should and shouldn’t have in your CV.

We also offer Interview skills sessions to help you perfect your technique so you can go to interviews with confidence.

On successful completion of this course learners will gain the Entry Level 3 Award in Work Skills.

Digital Skills for Jobseekers

This course is designed to develop or improve your digital skills to support with searching for work.

Digital Skills for Jobseekers will help you find your way safely around the internet, set up a personal email address if you don't already have one and make use of the internet for searching for work.

This course is suitable for anyone who has little or no experience with IT.

By completing this course you will increase your confidence and knowledge of digital platforms to help find an apply for a job online.

This course is delivered over 4 full days at our Clickworks building from 9.30am-4.00pm.

During this course, you will:

  • Understand how to use a computer/tablet/mobile device to aid job searching and universal credit applications
  • Learn how to make Universal Credit applications online
  • Use a word processing application to create, edit and produce a CV
  • Learn how to connect to the internet and use browser software to navigate to web pages
  • Use browser tools to search for job vacancies online
  • Learn how to set up an email address and use email software to send and receive emails
  • Learn how to download apps onto mobile devices, particularly job searching tools

On successful completion of the course you will gain the City & Guilds Entry Level 3 Award for IT Users.

This free Facilities Management course will help trainees to gain an understanding of the Facilities industry and will help them stand out to employers with a nationally recognised qualification and the skills they need to succeed in a Facilities role.


Units include:


Working in Facilities
Trainees will understand different roles and responsibilities of workers within the facilities services sector. This includes the health and safety and job specific requirements. This unit will help students recognise the underpinning health and safety requirements of working in the facilities sector and understand the importance of legislation surrounding this.


Health and Safety for facilities services
This will help trainees understand the specific health and safety policies and procedures typically used in the facilities sector. Covering how accidents should be reported and emergencies dealt with and giving trainees a good understanding of accident reporting forms and the procedures to be followed in the event of an accident or emergency.


Working with customers and others in facilities

Trainees will learn about the types of customers that they will be working closely with and the difference of internal and external customers. Also, the importance of teamwork for both efficiency in working and for the safety of workers in facilities.


Sustainability and environmental issues for facilities services
Students will learn about environmental sustainability and the role that facilities services plays in the implementation and upkeep of this. This unit will also cover the issues and legalities relating to environmental sustainability and government requirements.


On successful completion of the course learners will achieve the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services.
