The Chamber Hair & Beauty Academy
Thanks to funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Adult Education Budget we are pleased to be able to offer this course free of charge – provided that attendees were aged 19+ as of 31/8/22 and live within the Liverpool City Region.
This free course will give you the skills and qualifications you need to work in a professional salon or barber shop, covering a wide range of areas.
Qualification:
• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing or Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering
Course content:
Depending on the qualification you choose, you complete between six and nine mandatory units and a range of optional units.
Mandatory units include:
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Cut hair using basic techniques.
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Optional units include:
• Plait and twist hair
• Fulfil salon reception duties.
• Perm and neutralise hair
This course is delivered two days a week every Monday and Tuesday for 9 months.
Progression and related jobs:
You could progress onto further learning with qualifications such as Level 3 Certificates and Diplomas in Hairdressing and Barbering or develop your skills with our range of courses. You could also progress into employment as a Hairdresser, Stylist, Salon Owner and more.
