Thanks to funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Adult Education Budget we are pleased to be able to offer this course free of charge – provided that attendees were aged 19 or above as of 31/8/23, reside in the Liverpool City Region, and have lived in the UK, EU or EEA for the past three consecutive years.
If you do not meet the above criteria we can still offer this course on a commercial basis – please enquire for further details.
The qualification would be useful for anyone who would like to develop their use of counselling skills for use in either work or in a personal capacity. These may be learners who wish to progress towards further qualifications, or learners who wish to study this programme in order to complement other programmes (e.g., health and social care; children’s care, learning and development; voluntary and community work).
This qualification aims to:
• introduce learners to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• develop counselling skills
• understand the different approaches involved in the use of counselling skills
• appreciate the importance of self-development.
The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills consists of four mandatory units which are assessed by a portfolio of evidence;
• Using counselling skills
• Introduction to counselling skills theories
• Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
• Counselling skills and personal development.
Please note that interested learners will be asked to attend an Information & Enrolment Session prior to the course commencing, to complete an Initial Assessment and speak to our Counselling Tutor to assess suitability.

We will endeavour to inform you of this with as much notice as possible and offer alternative dates. We can also offer an appointment with our National Careers Service team to review opportunities with other training providers.
