Ready, Steady, Green

Over the 2022-2023 academic year, the Ready, Steady, Green Programme engaged with 33 classes and impacted 1034 children, educating pupils about climate change and future career choices.

Aimed at inspiring children by highlighting potential career paths that they could follow in the Low Carbon sector; the programme focuses on educating pupils on how making green energy choices can affect them and benefit the community they live in.

Ready, Steady, Green gives pupils the opportunity to spend a full morning learning about climate change through fun and unique activities, emphasising the positive steps already being made towards net zero.

The education team present in an age-appropriate and sensitive way aligning with KS2 learning outcomes in geography and science.

As a legacy project, each group are given information about ‘rewilding’ a small area of their school and some wildflower seeds to encourage biodiversity in the school environment.

Hear what the teachers had to say:

“Fabulous session: informative and with a positive outlook. Children enjoyed the practical activities. Interesting visual displays. Vital work to educate young people about – the children left with ideas for them to proactively participate in addressing climate change.” –Eccleston Mere Primary

“Very informative with good balance of information and child tasks – well prepared and knowledgeable about climate change.”  – Chapel End Primary

“A fantastic session which covers key areas of the Year 5 National curriculum. The vocabulary and activities provided were fun and engaging for children while giving them the opportunity to apply their learning. Children finished the session incredibly enthused about reducing the negative impact on the planet. Amazing session!” – St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School
