In collaboration with St Helens Council and sponsored by Paramount Digital, and supported by Glass Futures and Torus, the St Helens Borough Business Awards recognise and celebrate the success and accomplishments of businesses from all sectors.
Over the past year, we have seen the determination, strength and camaraderie of businesses across the St Helens Borough. These Awards will be an opportunity for us, and the public, to say a big thank you to those businesses and bring their stories into the limelight. The evening promises to be a fantastic event to network, be entertained and celebrate the very best of St Helens businesses.
Being part of the St Helens Borough Business Awards helps to raise the profile of your business and employees and this doesn’t end when you submit an entry. The credibility and publicity gained from being a finalist or winner, continues long after the awards ceremony!

This award – open to organisations employing up to 75 full-time members of staff – will go to a company that has achieved consistent growth backed by strong financial performance. Entrants will demonstrate current activity to grow market share and the effect this is having on business performance.
This award recognises socially purposed businesses and enterprises that are able to clearly demonstrate, evidence and communicate their social impact with their stakeholders.
This award recognises organisations that demonstrate excellence in the promotion and implementation of a learning and development culture. Entrants for this award must communicate how this culture has contributed to the business achieving outstanding success!
This award recognises the achievements of an individual, or organisation, who during the Coronavirus outbreak has had a significant impact on the local community.
This award recognises new start-up businesses, under two years old that have translated an idea into a successful business venture. The organisation must be able to demonstrate continued growth since start-up whilst meeting and overcoming challenges.
Apprentice of the Year is for those working towards or have completed their apprenticeship in the last 12 months, trained by a provider based in St Helens and of any age. This award recognises the achievements of hardworking Apprentices who show dedication to learning new skills, their professional development and a commitment to their business.
This award will recognise a student who has a promising bright future and has already shown outstanding commitment to learning. Judges will be looking for hard work, resilience, overcoming obstacles and pushing to achieve their goals.
Those working towards, or have completed, an apprenticeship in the last 12 months, should not apply for this award. Please see the Apprentice of the Year category.
Aimed at schools, colleges and further education providers that engage effectively with business, this award recognises those which can demonstrate partnership working with local businesses and how they help pupils develop crucial employability skills valued by employers.
This award recognises the entrepreneurial efforts and achievements of a business person. A dynamic and creative business leader who has been instrumental to the success of a business.
This award recognises the strength of St Helens’ exporters. Entrants for this award must stand out from the crowd on the international stage and demonstrate that they have generated significant and/or sustained increases in their export activity.
This award is open to businesses with exceptional practices and contributions towards improving diversity and inclusion in their industry, demonstrating its commitment to equality and be able to show progress of an inclusive workplace.
This award is open to businesses that can demonstrate they employ responsible business practices and have a commitment to managing their social and environmental obligations and how these have impacted on the local community.
This award is open to businesses who can demonstrate they have been innovative in its approach to business and their success through diversification either into new markets or the development of a new products.
