Background

Wealdpark Ltd have been trading for almost 60 years.  Established in 1965 in St. Helens and working from our current facility in Sutton Road since 1970, we manufacture turned and machined components to our customers specifications.  We currently employ 28 people and have recently purchased the neighbouring site as part of our expansion plans which would see a factory growth of around 60%.  We are a family business with 3 generations currently involved.  Our plant is modern, state of the art, CNC machinery and we serve a wide variety of industries in the UK and around the world.

 

Requirement

The construction of an 420m2 extension to an existing industrial/manufacturing building. The works generally comprises of a structural steel frame on piled foundations with a concrete ground slab. External walls consist of a cavity masonry plinth with composite cladding above, composite cladding roof panels, automated roller shutter doors and steel security personnel doors. Building services to the extension (lighting power, etc) are extended off the existing services. The electricity supply to the building will be upgraded. A temporary partition will be constructed to segregate the Employers operations area and the building zone prior to demolishing the rear wall. The scheme will be complete by end July 2023.

 

The work will be executed under a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016.

 

Deliverable Timescale

We expect the project to commence no later than April 2023, and to be completed by July 2023.

 

Estimated Budget

The budget for the work is £575,000 – £675,000

 

Evaluation Criteria

Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:

 

Cost 70% – does the supplier offer value for money.

Delivery timescale 20% – supplier must demonstrate they can deliver the scheme by end of Jul 2023

Supplier suitability 10% – supplier must demonstrate they have the capability and experience to deliver

 

Scoring Methodology

4 Excellent Proposal meets and in some places exceeds the required standard
3 Good Proposal meets required standard
2 Acceptable Proposal meets the required standard in most respects, but is lacking or inconsistent in others
1 Poor Proposal falls short of expected standard
0 Unacceptable Completely or significantly fails to meet required standard or does not provide the relevant answer

  • This project is part of the Liverpool City Region High Growth Programme, and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Under current Public Procurement Regulations there is no formal tender procedure, but a detailed written quotation is required.
