Please click here to view full RFQ document
Background
C Major has a strong ambition to accelerate its growth and for this reason is working with Sci-Tech Daresbury as a partner in the Liverpool City Region – New Markets 2 Programme which is part funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This programme will part fund the work requested below and hence accelerate the impact arising for C Major.
C Major is a start up medical device company that has developed and patented devices to prevent needle stick injuries (NSI’s). The market for devices to prevent NSI’s is large (>$10 billion) and there is legislation to prevent NSI’s in N America/Europe/Australia /Brazil and Taiwan and it is anticipated that more countries will follow suit. However, despite the abundance of products and the legislation, the number of NSI’s has not fallen significantly in the last 10 years. This is due at least in part because there any many medical procedures where there is no safe device available. C Major is developing products that address many of the most significant gaps. More information is available on our website http://www.cmajormedical.com/
Why this work?
Like many start up companies, fund raising for C Major is a significant barrier to growth. To date we have raised and spent >£500,000 and the founding directors have invested many man-years of sweat equity since 2009. We are now seeking significantly larger investment and to make contact with safety advocates/lobby groups and other parties associated with the wellbeing of health care workers on a global basis.
We anticipate that the use of Social Media would be a major contributory element to achieving these aims. However, the executive members of the C Major team have very limited Social Media experience/expertise. The purpose of this work is to enable C Major’s employees to gain the Social Media skills to address the issues listed above.
Goal
The outcome from this work will be
– A Social Media strategy to achieve the above listed results
– C Major employees will be sufficiently skilled to carry out the Social Media strategy.
Ambition
The strategic impact of the work would be twofold; –
-to establish many more and closer links with the angel and venture capital investment global community, ultimately leading to several successful rounds of fund raising.
– to establish more and closer contacts with parties who have a direct interest in the health and well being of health care workers again on a global basis.
Specification for Quotation
Work with C Major team to develop a Social Media strategy to meet the ambitions listed above.
Train at least 3 members of the C Major team in Social Media such that they can execute the strategy developed
The investment community of interest is likely to be UK based Angel and Venture Capital Funds based in UK for the next round of fund raising. For the subsequent fund-raising round(s) we expect to cast our nets much further overseas.
The health care communities we wish to create a relationship with are most likely to be in English speaking countries and expect them to include nursing associations, safety advocates, lobby groups, WHO, hospitals and possibly medical insurance companies.
