Background:
The Bagelry ltd is a small independent company set up in 2017. We make fresh bagels and baked
goods daily which we sell from our shop in LIverpool’s Chinatown. Following increased demand
post lockdown we have outgrown our current retail space and need to expand. To enable us to
do this we have sourced a nearby light industrial unit that will provide us with more space to
produce a larger quantity of bagels and cakes. It will allow us to increase our wholesale business
to business offer as currently we struggle due to limited capacity in the shop.
The funding would supply us with new equipment to use in the bakery unit such as fryers, ovens
and trolleys. Such equipment is necessary for our expansion and integral to the work that we do.
Our current equipment is old and some in need of repair.

Requirement:
The project consists of The Bagelry bakery moving out of the current retail space and into a light
industrial unit nearby. New industrial equipment will need to be ordered and renovation of the
space will need undertaking.

Premises renovations required:
Plumbing- plumbing in new equipment.
Extraction unit will need installing
Flooring- no slip flooring to be fitted throughout
Fit wall cladding
Electrician- three phase to be reviewed and new points added

Deliverable Timescale
The project will be completed within one month of taking on the lease for the unit (expected 1st
September). We expect the project to be completed by 1st Oct 2022.

Indicative Budget – Cost control is essential for the project and costs are expected to be between
£65,000 AND £75,000 depending on the materials used and speed of completion.

Evaluation Criteria
Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:
Cost 30%
Does supplier offer value for money.
Deliverability Within Specified Timescales 30%
Supplier must demonstrate they can deliver the requirement to timescales above
Meeting Specification Details 10%
Supplier must demonstrate all specifications met
Supplier Suitability 30%
Supplier must demonstrate they have the capability to deliver the requirement

Scoring Methodology
4 Excellent Proposal meets, and in some places exceeds the required standard
3 Good Proposal meets required standard
2 Acceptable
Proposal meets the required standard in most respects, but is lacking or
inconsistent in others
1 Poor Proposal falls short of expected standard
0 Unacceptable
Completely or significantly fails to meet required standard or does not
provide the relevant answer

1) This project is part of the Liverpool City Region High Growth Programme, and is part
funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Under current Public
Procurement Regulations there is no formal tender procedure, but a detailed written
quotation is required

Please be aware that due to the relatively low indicative budget for this work (i.e. less
than the current OJEU limits) there is no regulatory obligation for us to provide feedback
if you are unsuccessful.
We reserve the right to discontinue this quote process at any time and not award a
contract.
You will not be entitled to claim from us any costs or expenses which you may incur in
preparing and/or submitting your quote at any stage of this exercises. This applies,
whether or not your organisation is successful.
