Background:
Bennett Safetywear Ltd, established in 1937, is a Merseyside-based SME which designs, manufactures and supplies personal protective equipment, especially high-performance hand protection, to a broad customer base both in the UK and overseas. Its main activity is business to business, although personal purchases are accepted. An online ordering facility is not currently provided.
The Company’s principal market sectors are Engineering, Glass Manufacturing and Processing, Police and Fire Services and Military. Approximately 70% of turnover is currently derived from within the UK, with the balance exported primarily to Europe and the Middle East, although sales are made to six continents.
Project Requirement:
The Company commissioned a new website (www.bennettsafetywear.co.uk) as recently as 2016. However, it now considers that a new, improved and more professional website is required to reach a wider global audience, find new markets ahead of any adverse impact of BREXIT on European sales and grow the business generally by generating more qualified leads. Improvements are also required to facilitate the Company’s compliance with the new EU PPE Regulation regarding the availability to customers of Declarations of Conformity and the introduction of GDPR.
Project Scope: Bennett Safetywear is seeking to engage a suitably qualified marketing organisation /web developer to provide the following :
• Developing a professional looking and functional new website with increased visits
• Hosting and maintenance of the website
• Use of SEO to increase the profile of the company and its product range
• Facility to amend/update the website as required, both externally and in-house with suitable training available
• Professional photography of products to be featured (approximately 120)
• Incorporation of a facility to download Declarations of Conformity from the website
