Background Car ‘n’ Cab Care Ltd is an EV specialist of the Taxi trade and has been based in Merseyside for over 12 years. The company is looking to undertake a significant investment project to add solar panels to produce its own electricity and go off grid. This includes removing asbestos from the building, replacing and renovating parts of the roof and installing solar panels and also upgrading the electrical board. This will ensure the roof is fit for purpose and will make the company carbon negative, in a working service centre, crash repair body shop and valeting bay.

Requirement
Phase 1 – Remove an asbestos roof from large section of the building, replace the roof with modern materials and add solar panels, including the relevant electrical installations to a full south facing roof.
Phase 2 – Add solar panels and the relevant electrical installations to the south facing section of newly roofed area. Fit battery storage.
Phase 3 – Connect Hyper charger, add road markings to the taxi bays and barriers.
Full specifications are available on www.carandcab.co.uk and St Helens Chamber www.sthelenschamber.com. Alternatively, details and site visit arrangements can be requested from info@carandcab.co.uk

Indicative Budget

Cost control is essential to the budget and costs are expected to be between £250,000 and £300,000 – depending on materials and speed of completion. Also based on how many panels to be fitted and the size of the battery.
