Background
Pearsons Glass are a well establish glass processor based in central of Liverpool since 1901. The company is looking to undertake a significant investment project at their site on Maddrell Street, which includes the supply & installation of 1000 kva to the site, the creation of a new substation and upgrade to the internal electrical boards.
This will enable the removal of an old diesel generator, reduce the environmental impact and enable the company to move forward.
Requirement
Excavation and supply of electricity from the UK Network to the processing unit via “Love street”.
Creation / installation of a substation to house the transformers required for the project.
Connection, Upgrade and installation of internal electrical boards for the new supply.
Deliverable Timescale
All phases of the work are required as soon as possible and completion no later than August 2022.
Indicative Budget
Costs are key to this project and total expenditure are expected to be between £150,000 and £200,000 depending on building requirements.
Evaluation Criteria
Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:
Cost 30%
Does supplier offer value for money.
Deliverability Within Specified Timescales 30%
Supplier must demonstrate they can deliver the requirement to timescales above
Meeting Specification Details 10%
Supplier must demonstrate all specifications met
Supplier Suitability 30%
Supplier must demonstrate they have the capability to deliver the requirement
Scoring Methodology
4 Excellent | Proposal meets, and in some places exceeds the required standard |
3 Good | Proposal meets required standard |
2 Acceptable | Proposal meets the required standard in most respects, but is lacking or inconsistent in others |
1 Poor | Proposal falls short of expected standard |
0 Unacceptable | Completely or significantly fails to meet required standard or does not provide the relevant answer |

This project is part of the Liverpool City Region High Growth Programme, and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Under current Public Procurement Regulations there is no formal tender procedure, but a detailed written quotation is required
