Background
Altus Science is a privately-owned independent Certified Reference Material (CRM)
provider, focusing on Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Conductivity CRMs. We provide
Calibration, Validation and consumables for all makes of TOC analysers.
Altus Science began trading in 2012 and, while providing customers with CRMs, also
invested in building and implementing a quality management system (QMS). The culture
of quality is a fundamental foundation of our business, and we operate to both the letter
and the spirit of our QMS.
Altus Science accreditation to ISO 17025 & ISO 17034 ensures that, by using our
products, customers are able to maintain process accountability. Our specialist
expertise & technical excellence focuses on a narrow range of quality products aimed at
Life Science customers.
Based in Manor Park near to Liverpool, Altus Science operates a tightly controlled
manufacturing facility.
Requirements
This project aims to deliver different equipment for our facilities in Manor Park:
– An overhead stirrer with corresponding blending vessels
– A shrink-wrap machine
– Automation to optimise and accelerate production (open to all designs, from fully
automated to collaborative robots)
– Automation to streamline certain analytical measurements (open to all designs,
from fully automated to collaborative robots)

Deliverable Timescale
We expect the project to commence as soon as possible and to be completed by end of
July 2023.
Indicative Budget – for all the equipment described above: £180,000 to £250,000
Evaluation Criteria
Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:
Cost 30%
Does supplier offer value for money.
Deliverability Within Specified Timescales 20%
Supplier must demonstrate they can deliver the requirement to timescales above
Meeting Specification Details 20%
Supplier must demonstrate all specifications met. Quality, reliability and excellent
technical support is expected from the successful bid.
Supplier Suitability 30%
Supplier must demonstrate they have the capability to deliver the requirement
Scoring Methodology
4 Excellent Proposal meets, and in some places exceeds the required standard
3 Good Proposal meets required standard
2 Acceptable Proposal meets the required standard in most respects, but is lacking or
inconsistent in others
1 Poor Proposal falls short of expected standard
0 Unacceptable
Completely or significantly fails to meet required standard or does not
provide the relevant answer

Proposals for consideration are required by 5:00pm on 04 Oct 2022 either electronically to

1) This project is part of the Liverpool City Region High Growth Programme, and
is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Under current
Public Procurement Regulations there is no formal tender procedure, but a
detailed written quotation is required

Please be aware that due to the relatively low indicative budget for this work (i.e.
less than the current OJEU limits) there is no regulatory obligation for us to
provide feedback if you are unsuccessful.
We reserve the right to discontinue this quote process at any time and not award
a contract.
You will not be entitled to claim from us any costs or expenses which you may
incur in preparing and/or submitting your quote at any stage of this
exercises. This applies, whether or not your organisation is successful.
