Who's it for?This qualiﬁcation is designed for people who are currently employed in the Childcare sector, such as; nursery worker, nursery nurse, nursery Teaching assistant, nursery supervisor. They will often work within a nursery, early learning or childcare setting providing care for young children and or/deliver the early years foundation stage within a maintained school setting.
What will they study?To achieve the Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator), learners must achieve 64 credits from the mandatory units. To complete this qualification you will complete 23 units which are divided across 4 themes Theme 1 Health and Well being Theme 2 Legislation, frameworks and professional practice These 3 Play, development and learning for school readiness Theme 4 Professional development Although apprenticeships will vary depending on your entry level and your employer, you will gain a range of skills from the varying tasks you complete, these could include: • Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people • Contributing to lesson plans and activities • Helping to improve team practice in schools • Supporting children and young people's positive behaviour • Providing displays in schools Learners will also be required to undertake Functional Skills ICT at Level 2, which will be studied alongside the Apprenticeship. Tutorials will take place every Monday 4pm – 6pm, which learners will be required to undertake until they achieve the qualification (to be studied at St Helens Chamber). **On completion of this pathway the learner must have achieved GCSE maths and English at grades A*- C.** For learners who require to study GCSE alongside their Apprenticeship, day release will also be required for this.
