Who's it for?

People working in the manufacturing industry who want to improve their existing skills and broaden their understanding.

What will they study?

This qualification enables students to prove their competency in manufacturing operations, while working towards a national standard. They will develop tools, techniques and knowledge across the entire manufacturing process that enables them to work safely, comply with regulations, work effectively in a team, and improve their all round understanding and productivity. Optional topics include receiving and checking incoming materials, making products using computer-controlled equipment and carrying out inspection and testing activities. Students undertaking this course are also eligible to attend a number of additional seminars free of charge on topics including Kaizen awareness, Lean principles, 5S methodology, problem solving and Standard Operation Procedures.

What next?

Students could progress to higher level qualifications in a related area, such as a Level 2 Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques, or a more general business course, such as a Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading.
